Digital Catapult unveils project to ‘revolutionise’ UK imports and exports

A project to revolutionise UK imports and exports is unveiled by Digital Catapult

The first International Supply Chain Accelerator, created by cutting-edge digital technology company Digital Catapult, is slated to revolutionise global supply chains by utilising deep tech solutions.

The goal of Digital Catapult's two efforts, Product Carbon Footprint Measurement and Seamless Trade Across Borders, is to create worldwide industrial sustainability and enhance the resilience of global supply chains.

The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)-funded initiative, created by Digital Catapult, has assisted more than 40 SMEs and startups in obtaining investment totalling more than £3 million to date.

This momentum will be sustained by the International Supply Chain Accelerator, which will help participating technology pioneers scale more quickly and fortify supply chains in important economic sectors like consumer products, manufacturing, and defence.

eTEU, Linear-works, Parkway Logic, and Kavida AI are among the participating technology suppliers; each will get up to £85,000 to further develop their solution. The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), BT Group, Leonardo UK, and BAE Systems also support the program.

"The volume of cross-border trade has increased by around 25% in the last ten years, demonstrating the economic value of imports and exports and the need to streamline international trade processes," stated Tim Lawrence, director of the digital supply chain hub.

Participating firms will be equipped to address some of the most critical global supply chain issues and promote industrial sustainability globally through the deployment of deep tech solutions.

"I have no doubt that each company will positively influence future supply chains, and this new chapter builds on the success of the Digital Supply Chain Hub thus far."
