Battery supply chains for electric vehicles had a record year - Supply Chain Tribe by Celerity

In only 2022, more than a quarter of a million electric cars (EVs) were sold in the United States. The historic desire for clean automobiles is still being driven by consumer choices and regulations. Need for the batteries that power EVs goes hand in hand with that demand. EV battery supply chains are very young and continuously changing. Not only is it important to lower risk, but there is also a chance to create circular supply chains by recycling, reusing, and minimising waste and toxics. By doing this, the widespread negative effects of the present fossil fuel vehicle supply chains will be reduced.

While there is still more to be done in 2023 and beyond, the federal government showed a lot of interest in developing the EV battery supply chains necessary to achieve regional, state, and federal clean transportation targets in 2022.
