Deliveree To Improve Southeast Asia’s Logistics Landscape

Southeast Asia’s Logistics Landscape - supply chain tribe by celerity

Deliveree wants to solve the problem of expensive logistics in Southeast Asia with a platform that uses algorithms to determine the best route based on location, trucking loads and even the weather, aside from just letting the clients book their trucks. The company has raised a $70 million Series C, led by Gobi Partners and SPIL Ventures, bringing the company’s total raised, so far, to $109 million since it was founded in 2015.

High logistics cost means higher cost for customers as well. Deliveree is currently available in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand and it primarily focuses on large trucks that move commercial goods or large items. Deliveree also solves the problem of inefficient use of trucks by letting companies book trucks on its way back, after a delivery, instead of having them return empty to the warehouses, for example.

The marketplace’s technology, combined with its volume, currently having tens of thousands of customers and vendors, can identify customers both ways on a truck’s journey so it rarely travels empty. Thanks to Deliveree’s internally-generated data set, trucks can achieve up to 80% utilization rate. This also leads to shorter waiting queues. During the pandemic, Deliveree made it so that companies could de-leverage their balance sheets and book trucks on an asset-light basis, helping them increase revenue during such trying times. Deliveree’s standard ratio is 80% to the independent trucker or trucking company, and a 20% commission for the company.
