Supply Chain disruptions in Pak hit Honda

Honda shuts down a facility in Pakistan amid economic crisis - Supply Chain Tribe by Celerity

The nation's Honda car assembler, Honda Atlas Cars, said that the facility will be shut down from March 9 to March 31 due to the present economic climate.

The automaker firm said that it would be unable to continue with production and that it would be closing its facility for the rest of the month.

The decision was made, according to the carmaker, because the supply chain for the business has been badly interrupted, it stated in a notification filed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The company said in a statement outlining all the factors leading to the plant shutdown: "Considering the current economic situation of Pakistan whereby the government resorted to stringent measures including restricting the opening of LCs (letter of credits) for the import of CKD (completely knocked-down) kits, raw materials, and halting foreign payments.

As the firm "is not in a position to continue with its production, it will finally be forced to shut down [its facility] from March 9 to March 31," it was said as a result.

Previously, the Pakistani automakers Pak Sukuzi Motor Company (PSMC) and Indus Motor Company (IMC), which assembles Toyota vehicles, also declared that their manufacturing facility will be shutting down entirely.
