For the introduction of LNG-fueled large trucks for the transportation of cement, JK Lakshmi Cement has partnered with GreenLine, a pioneer in green and intelligent logistics in India.

According to a statement from the firm, "with this relationship, GreenLine will help JK Lakshmi Cement to decarbonise its road logistics activities in a progressive way over the next few years." The firms want to dramatically expand this over the following two years, starting with a fleet of 10 LNG trucks operating on the Sirohi in Rajasthan to Surat in Gujarat route.

"Each LNG truck saves annual CO2 emissions by around 35 tonnes. JK Lakshmi Cement intends to minimise its carbon emissions with the move to LNG-fueled logistics, not just to fulfil its environmental goals but also to improve its ESG performance, the company stated.

Indian trucks typically run on diesel fuel. On long-distance routes, liquefied natural gas (LNG) provides a less polluting substitute.

JK Lakshmi Cement believes in sustainable and responsible growth that takes into account our community and the environment, according to Arun Shukla, President & Director of JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., who spoke at the event. Our first move toward sustainable transportation is the deployment of LNG trucks.
